Azure Resource Manager templates are JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) files that define the infrastructure and configuration for your project .ARM templates are JSON files that define the resources you need to deploy for your solution.
Steps to create VM in Azure From Templet
- open a new browser window, and enter the URL https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/templates/?azure-portal. In the gallery you will find a number of popular and recently updated templates. These templates automate deployment of Azure resources
- Search and Select the Deploy a simple Windows VM
- Click the Deploy to Azure button. Your browser session will be automatically redirected to the Azure Portal
Note: The Deploy to Azure button enables you to deploy the template via the Azure portal. During such deployment, you will be prompted only for small set of configuration parameters.
- Now configure the parameters required by the template. Leave the defaults for everything else.
- Create a new Resource group
- Provide Admin Username
- Provide Admin Password
- Provide a unique Dns Label prefix
- Click Review + Create.
- Azure will validates the above details internally and will show a message “Validation passed”.
- Now click Create.
